Humans don't default to truth. We default to what we want to be true.

I'm surprised it needed a study to prove this as there are decades worth of this... It's the same psychological motivator behind scams.

I suspect most people will continue to proceed by American assumptions: their poverty is their fault, they just need to work harder.
